Child Nutrition Access & Accountability through Technology National Training 2017

Leveraging Innovation in 2017

Who is ready for the Child Nutrition Access & Accountability through Technology National Training (CNAAT) starting tomorrow in Colorado?

eScholar is extremely excited to announce that we will be presenting twice during the next week at The Westin Westminster in Colorado. We will be presenting will Joseph Templin, Project Lead for the FNS Direct Certification Training and Technical Assistance Team and Oregon on “Investigating Direct Certification Match Logic.”

Access our presentation from CNAAT here.

Investigating Direct Certification Match Logic

The effectiveness of your data linkage method is a primary component of a successful direct certification system. However, it is often difficult to make changes to your linkage method – whether high performing or low performing – because you are not sure of the questions to ask. In this session, we will investigate match logic and provide you with the tools to begin your considerations. To do so, we’ll employ the assistance of staff from the Oregon Department of Education and eScholar to learn about the important questions and answers behind the data linkage methods they utilize. This an intermediate-level session. Presenters: Dave Griffith – Oregon Department of Education; Juan Guerrero – eScholar; Annie Marges – Oregon Department of Education; Joe Templin – USDA, Food and Nutrition Service

Our first session will be Tuesday and Wednesday morning at 9:45AM – 11:15AM, so you have two opportunities to hear about eScholar’s expertise in person matching and the linking algorithms that we use to reach a 95% and above Direct Certification rate.

There will be an opportunity to see a demo of our Direct Certification solution, eScholar DirectMatch, at the conference. Come by our table Wednesday morning at 8AM to 9:30AM at the Systems Demonstration and learn about how eScholar DirectMatch can help your state.

About CNAAT:

The idea for the CNAAT Training was born directly from the work of the CNSSW, a State and Federal workgroup which has been meeting annually to assist FNS in forming a vision for State and local technology systems. The CNSSW is helping FNS to move the vision strategically from ideas to reality to build a strong framework, knowledge base, and resource network for leveraging technologies in Child Nutrition Programs.

The CNAAT National Training will offer programs for Child Nutrition (CN) State agencies and their technology industry partners. The sessions will include a variety of interactive workshops, collaborative activities, and technology demonstrations focused on best practices in the use and management of technologies in CN program operations to improve program access and accountability. Training topics will include:

  • Project Management and Procurement
  • Data Access, Analytics and Visualization
  • Software Development Methodologies, Planning and Testing
  • Process Improvement Methods and Application
  • Innovations and Leading Technologies
  • Program Specific Topics in NSLP, CACFP & SFSP
  • System Design and Implementation
