School districts have vast amounts of valuable data such as student demographic information, assessments, grades, attendance, staff information and discipline data. Data warehouses allow districts to put all of that data in a single location, ready and available for use. Once the data has been cleansed and organized in a data warehouse, it can be used for trend analysis, program evaluation, decision support and fulfillment of No Child Left Behind reporting requirements.
The eScholar Readiness Workshop has been a crucial first step in eScholar implementations for hundreds of districts. The Workshop brings together a select team from within the district to describe the components of a data warehouse, to assess the data needs and goals of the district, and to generate a plan for how data can help support the district’s education efforts.
