Shawn Bay, Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Shawn Bay is regarded as one of the originators of data warehousing, having been deeply involved in its development as a tool for consumer goods marketing in the mid 1980’s. Applying his experience to the field of education, he immediately recognized the value of quality education data. He also saw the complexity of that data and the many ways data could be used to improve the educational performance of students nationwide. He founded eScholar LLC to provide data warehousing to K-12 school districts and State Education Agencies in an affordable, reliable way. With his exclusive focus on education since 1997, Mr. Bay gained extensive knowledge and experience in data quality issues, data sources and successful approaches to solving complex problems. Mr. Bay has a Masters Degree in finance and marketing and an undergraduate degree in economics. He began his career as a Marketing Analyst at Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati and advanced to lead Information Systems for the Unilever PLC food business in the United States. Mr. Bay founded Vision Associates, the parent of eScholar LLC and a warehousing consulting firm in 1992.

Wolf Boehme, President

Wolf Boehme built and manages the business operations of eScholar LLC. His experience as a member of the founding team at Bloomberg LP, and as COO of Xceed, Inc., has provided him with strong experience in building, developing and managing a well run, stable and successful information technology company. Initially in financial services and now in education, Mr. Boehme's expertise has been instrumental in developing information tools that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of companies and other organizations. He was attracted to eScholar for the opportunity to apply his experience in financial and information services to the important endeavor of improving the quality and effectiveness of education for everyone.
