Shawn Bay, Founder and CEO
Mr. Bay founded eScholar® to harness the power of data to help students succeed. Being one of the pioneers of the Data Science industry, he quickly recognized there were untapped opportunities to use comprehensive data to help students. eScholar is proud of the role we played in bringing the use of education data from an idea in 1997 to powerful practice today.
After graduate school, Mr. Bay was a leader in the emerging practice of data science, first at Procter and Gamble, then applied those techniques for better supporting customers to many other fields before focusing exclusively on education starting in 1997. He grew up on a farm in Kentucky and experienced how an unique and personalized education could make it possible to achieve big goals. He has dedicated his career to providing the same opportunities to every student.
Wolf Boehme, President
Mr. Boehme focuses on making sure eScholar does its best in supporting our clients and is responsible for business operations, customer support and services. Mr. Boehme was a member of the initial team at Bloomberg LP and spent 13 years seeing how access to accurate and timely information can help businesses succeed. He brings his substantial experience in operating businesses effectively to ensure that eScholar is in a position to deliver for our customers, not just initially, but sustaining and enhancing our support as their needs evolve.
Andrea Hartman, Director, Product Management
Ms. Hartman leads eScholar’s focus on delivering effective, reliable and innovative products. Her team is responsible for all aspects of conceiving, creating and evolving each of our products to effectively support personalized education. Andrea’s experience as an athlete, a coach and an education technology leader helped her see the value of being goal focused and to see exactly how technology and data could help busy teachers do what they really want to do, understand what motivates students and harness those motivations to help them achieve their very best.
John Pozzuto, Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Pozzuto leads the team of developers that provides solid technology for eScholar products as well as the technical infrastructure that supports eScholar’s team and clients. Mr. Pozzuto spent years as a software developer supporting Wall Street traders. Through this he learned how to build systems that are both fast and reliably deal with large amounts of data. He also learned a great deal about the implementation of data standards as a way to smoothly provide services that span systems, companies and continents yet maintain the highest degree of accuracy and reliability and confidentiality.
Elissa Seto, Sr. Manager, Sales and Marketing
Ms. Seto leads the team that works to understand the products and services that are most effective in helping students succeed. Ms. Seto spent years as a middle school science teacher in the Bronx, NY. She learned through her teaching experience that teachers can be more effective in helping students when they know students strengths and goals. Using these insights, teachers can motivate academic performance by making education truly matter.
Stephanie Ashmeade, Director of Finance & Administration
Ms. Ashmeade is responsible for the financial operations of the eScholar company and our relationships with clients and suppliers. Ms. Ashmeade has years of experience in operations within the notoriously fast paced fashion industry. Stephanie brought her understanding of how to run a business that is reliable and predictable for employees and clients and at the same time capable of moving quickly to deliver against emerging opportunities.
Marc Hoffmeister, Director, Client Services
Mr. Hoffmeister is responsible for the services that help make our clients successful. Mr. Hoffmeister has years of experience in data management technology, consulting and professional education. His team focuses on all aspects of the support and services we provide to help our client’s succeed. These include project leadership, implementation, help desk as well as all of the training and education offerings of eScholar U®.
Tim Garrison, VP, Data Planning and Analysis
Mr. Garrison leads the team that creates the eScholar Complete Data Warehouse products including the eScholar EDFacts Solution. Mr. Garrison has over 25 years designing and implementing data warehouse solutions and analyzing warehouse data in both private industry and the public sector and has spent the last 10 years working exclusively on the eScholar suite of Warehouse products.
Juan Guerrero, Product Manager
Mr. Guerrero is responsible for eScholar Uniq-ID®. Mr. Guerrero spent his early career at the United Nations and his received his education across different countries throughout the America’s, including the United States. Through his experience Juan has seen the differences and discontinuities in different educational systems. His team is focused on making education seamless across all providers in a way that can help students succeed.
Beverly Walker, Quality Assurance Manager
Ms. Walker is focused on ensuring that each release of our products is reliable, fast and easy to implement. Ms. Walker was one of the original members of the eScholar team and has more than 15 years as a data technologist. She has deep experience understanding the inherent complexities of analyzing education data as well as a tremendous appreciation for the positive impact it can have for students.
Janet Dougherty, Manager, eScholar U
Ms. Dougherty provides skills and expertise to our clients and our team. Ms. Dougherty’s team develops curriculum and courses that are delivered both in-person and online through eScholar U. Janet invested many years in the classroom helping individual children succeed and brings that experience and commitment to helping every educator become more effective.
John Pagnotta, Manager, Professional Services
Mr. Pagnotta provides the hands-on skills necessary to bring important projects to success and keep them there as objectives evolve. Mr. Pagnotta’s degree and experience as a chemical engineer provided him with a terrific ability to understand and manage complex and intricate transformations. These skills are highly valuable in developing and executing on processes that help transform our educational system into one that truly provides a personalized education to every student.
