Professional Services Engineer
We are looking for a talented Professional Services Engineer to help us grow our Professional Services practice. This individual will be responsible for support and delivery of eScholar solutions. The successful candidate will have proven experience participating in the full lifecycle of client projects including scope definition, requirements gathering, business analysis, design, development, testing, and support.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide Tier 1/Tier 2 support for existing operational clients
- Work with other eScholar departments and product teams to execute eScholar Professional Services projects
- Manage eScholar’s Hosted Data activities
- Oversee eScholar’s customer support incident process
- Be available for travel to client sites up to 20% of the time
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree
- 3+ years hands-on experience with technical support and/or customer-facing technical projects
- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of database design, relational databases, ETL and SDLC
- Expertise with SQL, PL/SQL and/or T-SQL
- Experience using SSIS and/or other ETL tools
- Knowledge of one or more OO Programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, VB.NET)
- Expert data analysis skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Familiarity with data warehousing, business intelligence tools, and/or the public education sector is highly desired
Senior JAVA Developer
The Senior Java Developer will develop and code enhancements and refinements to eScholar Data Manager™. This individual must be a team player, but also have the initiative to work independently. Responsibilities will include design, testing, development, documentation, quality assurance and development of next generation product platforms.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Core Java (JDBC, I/O, threading, etc.)
- J2EE Web Interfaces (HTML, JavaScript, Servlets, JSP, etc.)
- J2EE backend technologies (JMS, JTA, etc.)
- Hibernate ORM, Cayenne ORM
- Spring Framework, Apache Click
- RDBMS (Oracle and/or SQL Server)
- Full SDLC experience
- Experience with version control, unit testing, automated builds, and continuous integration
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related discipline
Additional Desired Qualifications:
- Messaging (JMS, JAXM, MQ Series, or equivalent)
- Data Warehousing
- Web Services
- Eclipse IDE
- Java Developer Certification
- Familiarity with K-12 Educational Industry and Student Data
